Welcome to our April/May Newsletter.

Our ecological garden becomes a reality

Over the summer plans to develop our ecological garden will start to take shape as we begin re-housing lots of wonderful wildlife species from the proposed new Graham Care development at Hawkhurst. Our extensive grounds with areas of unmanaged grasslands and log piles are an ideal habitat for slow worms, insects and reptiles and we expect will attract a wide variety of other wildlife too.

Many residents are already keen to get involved and the garden has become quite talking point. Our walkways extend through these areas so this exciting new garden will be accessible to all.

Staff change in finance department

Marta Woszczyk, our finance administrator, is going on maternity leave soon so we look forward to welcoming her back in the new year. Meanwhile Akhil Priya will be taking on the finance role and he can be contacted at accounts@cornfordhouse.co.uk

Coming soon – the Graham Care Awards

We are currently developing our own awards scheme to recognise the achievements of staff working in all our departments. We are planning to gather testimonials from residents, their relatives and friends as well as care professionals, and aiming to have a celebration event in November. Look out for updates on our website and forthcoming newsletters.

Keeping in touch with RESILINK

With our RESILINK service relatives and friends of our residents can view online care plans as well as daily reports written by our care staff. Some relatives are using this service every day to keep in touch with the day to day life of their loved ones. If you have problems accessing the service please email me.

Please have your say!

We really value the independently verified feedback and reviews from relatives and care professionals which can be seen on our website. These reviews are fed into relevant websites such as NHS Choices which help families make important decisions on the care of their loved ones. It’s very easy to leave a review or a comment via our website or directly on the Disc Directory service that we use so I urge you to have a go!
