National Care Home Open Day

28th June 2019

Cornford House celebrated National Care Home Open Day by holding a BBQ Event in our ground floor patio garden in beautiful sunshine.  We were supported once more by  our favourite Master Chef, George McIvor, Chairman of Master Chefs of Great Britain and Stuart Minton Regional Sales Manager for “the full range” Culinary and Purchasing Business.

George was supported by his “Singing” BBQ Chef “Ben” who serenaded us while the food was cooking.  Cornford’s own Chefs Anna and Elia supported the Master Chef Team throughout the event.

The theme for the day was Art and Craft and our residents and relatives produced their own art and photography master pieces to enter into a competition within the home.

The day opened at 11am with our Resident Choir entertaining the first visitors through the door, with everyone welcomed and encouraged to join in with the sing along.

It would not be a fun day without our raffle which raised £140.00. Proceeds were donated in aid of our residents’ favourite charity The Kent Air Ambulance.   Thank you so much for the lovely gifts donated for the raffle.

A very special thank you to Team Cornford, our staff and relatives who spent hours baking for the event, serving food, drinks, and supporting  everyone  to enjoy their day.

We are planning to launch The Cornford House Care Home Cook Book 2 very soon and will also announce a date for a very special Christmas event with George and the Team in December!

If you attended the day with us, please say “Hi and thank you” to George and Stuart by hitting the feedback button on our webpage:  www.cornfordhouse.co.uk on our Working Feedback section.

Thank you, Lorraine.
